Edge Spirit Award Nomination Form 2026
The Edge Spirit Award, in memory of Morris Mercanti recognizes an outstanding high-school aged individual that embodies the same values of Charity of Hope co-founder, Mr. Morris Mercanti. A business icon, a community leader, a family man, and a friend of many who needed a helping hand. A bursary in the amount of $2500 will be provided to the successful recipient.
The runner-up will receive the “BETTERMAN award”, in honour of Tony DePaulo Jr., awarded to a deserving teen who exemplifies what it means to have hope in the face of adversity. A bursary in the amount of $1000 will be provided to this successful recipient.

Charity of Hope’s 26th Annual Gala “Let’s Play Ball”
Step up to the plate on April 17 for Charity of Hope’s 26th Annual Gala, an unforgettable evening celebrating 26 years of standing beside children and youth when they need it most. Guests will gather at Carmen’s Event Centre in Hamilton for a powerful night featuring a fireside chat with Mark Shapiro, President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays, live entertainment by Tom Wilson and band, dinner, raffles, and a live auction. Proceeds directly support programs that ensure children and youth are supported, seen, and never left behind. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
